hurch retreats are an excellent way for your church to bring together the members of the congregation in a spiritually renewing setting. Offering a church retreat creates community and support with the people closest to
you spiritually. Planned correctly, a church retreat can be a focal element of the church's overall
well-being.
he
Hartness House offers 35 secluded acres of the best of
Vermont nature and mountains. The estate
embodies serenity in nature and has numerous nature and hiking trails, hand-made
stone bridges, streams, fields and meadows, and
pine forests. The Inn has an outdoor swimming
pool and a garden deck with lovely deck furniture
and sun umbrellas and many favorite outdoor spots for groups meetings and functions.
retreat is a time-honored religious experience of drawing aside
to a quiet place by oneself--or with a spouse, or with a group--to learn
more of the ways of God's loving relationship with us--and to discover
how to recognize the presence of spiritual balance in the moments of very
ordinary living, as well as in the extraordinary events of our life.
retreat is a time to examine, to discover, and to decide--a time to
look back with reverence and gratitude, and perhaps even with some
sorrow and regret--a time to find peace in the present and hope for the
future--a time to decide which path of life we will follow, our own, or
that of Jesus and the gospel.
As with any religious experience, a retreat is a journey of discovery
to the inner self and then back again to the circumstances of our every-
day life, but with new, fresh perspectives. While retreat events follow a
time schedule, participants are encouraged to pace the retreat to their
personal needs for prayer, rest, and relaxation..
